T86 clearance is by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Introduced on September 28, 2019, an unofficial method of entry must be submitted by a self-help importer or customs broker to file a declaration.

• Fast Time: support pre-clearance, can complete the approval before arriving at the harbor
• Tax exemption: goods declared by the consignee on the day of customs clearance not exceeding 800 USD are tax exempted.
• High pass rate: each parcel is declared separately, not affected by other detained parcels, low risk

A unilateral import entry or unilateral export entry is a mode of import/export trade in which the goods traded are imported or exported in the ordinary course of trade sold unilaterally by an enterprise, usually for commercial sales purposes, covered by an entry bond, and whose total value usually exceeds $2,500. In order to properly submit an official entry, the importer must identify the port into which the goods will enter.

• Suitable for the object: suitable for public-to-public trade, the value of goods is generally larger
• Inspection rate: Since the goods are mostly for sales purpose, the declaration requirements are strict and the inspection rate is high.
• Risk of seizure: A batch of goods is declared, if one of the goods is detained, the whole batch of goods may be detained together.
